About this engine

A twin-cam, sixteen-valve 1.6 fed by a carburettor — the engine of the carburetted Corolla and Conquest before fuel injection arrived, and a far livelier thing than an eight-valve of the same size. Iron block, alloy head, a belt-driven pair of cams, and the famous red "16 VALVE" script on the cover. The unit photographed carries that "TOYOTA 16 VALVE" cam cover with the carburettor and its linkage fitted, which is what identifies it as the F rather than the injected FE. Supplied complete with the carburettor, distributor and alternator as removed. Sold as a used import, exactly as it came out of the donor vehicle and as photographed. The engine code above is the one marked on this unit; we confirm it against the stamped engine number before dispatch. Compression and leak-down testing is available on request before you commit, and every unit carries a 3-month warranty against internal mechanical failure.

This list is not exhaustive. If your chassis is not here, ask — most swaps come down to mounts and sump clearance.
