About this engine

Toyota's 2.4 four — the engine that moved the Camry, RAV4 and Previa for a decade, and a genuinely torquey unit for its size at 162 lb-ft. Aluminium block with cast-iron liners, chain-driven twin cams and intake VVT-i, with balance shafts to keep a large four civilised. These units arrived complete with the intake manifold, coil packs and accessory drive fitted. A well-known caution on this family is the head-bolt thread in early blocks; ask us and we will check yours on the bench before it ships. Sold as a used import, exactly as it came out of the donor vehicle and as photographed. The engine code above is the one marked on this unit; we confirm it against the stamped engine number before dispatch.
