The second-generation EA888 1.8 TFSI, as fitted to the B8 A4 and 8T A5. A turbocharged, direct-injected 1.8 with a cast-iron block and chain-driven cams, making 184 lb-ft from 1,500 rpm — a small engine that drives like a considerably larger one. We have several on the floor, tagged CDH by the yard and photographed where they stand. Timing chain tensioner and oil consumption are the documented weak points of the Gen 2 EA888: ask us to check the tensioner revision on a specific unit before you commit and we will. Sold as a used import, exactly as it came out of the donor vehicle and as photographed. The engine code above is the one marked on this unit; we confirm it against the stamped engine number before dispatch. Compression and leak-down testing is available on request before you commit, and every unit carries a 3-month warranty against internal mechanical failure.
