About this engine

The VR6 in its final and best form. A 15-degree vee narrow enough to sit under a transverse bonnet with a single cylinder head across both banks — an engineering oddity that produced one of the great engine notes. The AXZ adds FSI direct injection and 12.0:1 compression for 250 hp and 236 lb-ft, most of it available from 2,500 rpm. The unit photographed carries its VW-badged intake with "V6" cast into the plenum, and is marked AXZ by the yard. Supplied complete with the manifold, coils and ancillaries. Sold as a used import, exactly as it came out of the donor vehicle and as photographed. The engine code above is the one marked on this unit; we confirm it against the stamped engine number before dispatch. Compression and leak-down testing is available on request before you commit, and every unit carries a 3-month warranty against internal mechanical failure.
